Internet Saves

The internet scares me. It is so big, there is so much amazing stuff on it. I will never see all the amazing thing. When I do see an amazing thing, I am likely to forget about it, which is sad, because the thing is amazing. This is a place I can keep track of some amazing things I find.

Charli xcx presents Music, Fashion, Film | Full Film

I think the whole aesthetic of the video is lovely. I enjoy the album, and hearing/seeing a bit of the context it was made in made me understand and love it more. The fact that there are ads in the video pissed me off lol, and the voice over sections are good for explanation but the giggling took me out of the immersion - the voice overs felt a bit over performed. Its complicated because the whole album is very meta, describing the feeling of performing for a camera, being someone else, etc, but I couldn't tell if the film was meant to be really real and authentic or more of a performance. Either way, I think it's really cool.

Google My Maps

I don't know if that link will work for other people. As stated at the top of the page, the volume of amazing things on the internet scares and excites me - this is also true for the world. I love to travel, I am so excited to travel. I had never heard of this website before, but it is google maps that you can personalize. I have added blue pins for cities I want to go, named and with a number of days I think I should stay and why I should go written in the description of the pin. I have added green pins for natural landmarks or areas to visit. Yellow pins for man made landmarks like statues or museums, and purple pins for accomodation I want to stay in. I've drawn a few lines that mark sleeper train routes I would love to take. This website feels like it turns the world into a Zelda BOTW map. When I would play BOTW I would get a similar overwhelming feeling looking out and seeing all the places I need to go, so I would mark them on the map and work my way through them. Now I can do the same in real life. My algorythm knows I love thinking about travelling, so Tiktok is constantly showing me cities I could go to, mountains I could hike, rivers I could swim in. Its sort of a guilty pleasure, a cheap way to feel good and full of excitement. I don't care yet, I'm not sick of the feeling. I am very happy building up my list of places to go.
